About the Tournament

The annual BC motion picture industry golf tournament fundraiser formerly known as the "MPPIA All Star Golf Tournament" returns to its roots in 2011, renamed as a tribute to the original tournament's founder and BC industry trailblazer Stephen J. Cannell. The MPPIA Stephen J. Cannell Classic Film Industry Golf Tournament is set to take place at the Point Grey Golf & Country Club on Monday June 27.

Stephen Cannell passed away Sept. 30 2010, but he will long be remembered for his enormous contributions to the BC motion picture industry and for his generous spirit, lending his name to many charity events. Like his vision for a BC based production industry, Stephen Cannell's idea of an industry golf tournament fundraiser has flourished in Vancouver for more than 20 years and he will be appropriately remembered every year when industry gathers to raise money at the traditional favourite of the industry's annual event calendar.

MPPIA invites you to be generous with your support and participation in the MPPIA Stephen J. Cannell Classic. Proceeds will support the MPPIA Short Film Award and the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.
